Meet vs. Wisconsin Dells Dolphins

Good morning team,

Our meet tomorrow is at the Wisconsin Dells Dolphins pool.  Here are some details shared with us from their team:

We will have a full concessions located by the softball field.

Heat sheets will be available at concession stand for $2 each.

We will be doing Chuck the Dolphin at the end of IM’s before breast. Dolphins will be for sale one for a $1 or 6 for $5. Split the pot if you get in the middle of the swim ring.

Your warm ups will start promptly at 7:30 am, please have your swimmers on deck and ready at 7:25am. The meet will start at 8am.

We should be able to wrap the meet up by noon. We will combine as many events as we can staying within the same age groups and exhibition/relays.

For new families, a couple of things to know about the Wisconsin Dells pool:

Pool address is 510 Veterans Drive Wisconsin Dells.  If you know where Just A Game fieldhouse is, the pool is very close to that.  If not, the pool is located in downtown Wisconsin Dells a few blocks off the strip.  Come across the bridge, go under the railroad bridge and take the first Right which is LaCrosse Street.  It is a few blocks down tucked away from all the Wisconsin Dells attractions and hustle and bustle.

It is a short pool.  Times will need to be converted.  Make sure your swimmers know just in case they think they are swimming really fast!

The pool has a rather large lip as part of the gutter.  It can be difficult to exit the pool after a race since you don't exit using a ladder.  At this point in the season, arm muscles should be strong from all this swimming but just a heads up.

Results are typically posted inside the pool house on the walls by the entry to the locker rooms but this could change.

In the past, this team has given out trinkets to heat winners.  2 yrs ago I believe they were dolphin key chains or something of that sort.  Unsure if they still are this year but just a heads up as the kids really like them.

They are indicating the meet will be done at noon but do not be surprised if it is closer to 11.  We are the two smallest teams, they are efficient with combining events, have a well-oiled clerk of course & the pool is short.  This historically is a fast meet.

Mazo's team area is on the block side of the pool and it is under pine trees in the shade.  Eazy up's are welcome but for how short this meet is and the shade in the morning, they aren't really needed.  I believe they have bleachers in that area as well.  There are also a lot of exposed tree roots so watch your footing as you walk from the parking lot to our area.

Good luck to all swimmers tomorrow!  Go Cuda's!

Reminder next week we have TWO home meets.  Wednesday night vs. Baraboo (make up meet from the poor air quality week)  & Saturday vs. Mount Horeb.

One last thing: if you haven't already found it, any pictures you ordered have been placed in your team folder at the Mazo pool house.  This is also where your ribbons go after a meet as well.  This is your friendly reminder to check your family folder.
